A six-lesson course designed to aid your work with the younger generations, either the  Millennials or Generation Z.

It is designed to be used as either a step by step process, or it can also be used as a circular and sections picked out and used to suit.


The course is 'live and online' and is recorded for later viewing/reviewing, so whatever your time zone, you can study this one.


Who are Generation Z?

Generation Z is the name that has been given to our youngest and now the largest cohort on this planet. These are the age ranges for the generations. (The years vary slightly dependent on where the information is obtained).


  • Baby Boomer  1944-1964
  • Generation x    1965-1979
  • Millennials        1980-1994
  • Generation z    1995-Present


A generation born into a very different world, a world where technology has advanced enormously. They are the first generation to know no other world than one that is connected by the internet and various devices to do so that are used  daily. This is a world that is more abundant, prosperous and safe statistically than at any other time. They have more possessions and technology, health, social and educational programmes have been improved.


Yet, these are just a couple of the statistics from the World Health Organisation about Mental Health and the younger generation: (WHO. - Sept 2020)


  • Globally, depression is one of the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents.
  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death in 15-19 year olds.
  • The consequences of not addressing adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.


What can we do to help?

We can’t all change the world, but we can help to instil resilience in order to help this young generation cope with the varying factors that have had an impact on their mental health. This course will help to:


  • Look at the various factors that may have attributed to the mental health problems. Why have the younger generations had some sort of maladaptation to the changing world, even though they have a lot of resources available to them that were perhaps missing in their parent’s lives.
  • It delves into attachment issues and how this has affected that generation.
  • What is Resilience and what attributes are needed to create or improve it. Why can some come through adverse life situations relatively unscathed, and some will suffer with anxiety and depression.
  • There is information about adolescent development including changes that are going on in the teenage brain.
  • There are Questionnaires to use and  new Protocols that have been written to help create confidence, competence and resilience.


The course contains a host of information for you to gain knowledge and to use with the younger generations. The work and protocols can also be useful and help with any generation as it gives a framework for building resilience. I have personally used it with older generations also to good effect. 


We cannot prevent and avoid ‘stress’ in life, but we can hope to promote strength rather than protect weakness. This will help the young generations cope with life.
